Kashmir Ladakh Combo Tour Package from Srinagar

A Kashmir and Ladakh combo with TDI Holiday Ventures starts and ends in Srinagar: valley days first, then the Srinagar to Leh road over Zojila with a night in Kargil, an acclimatisation rest in Leh, and your Ladakh circuit. We price each half from our package tables and quote the whole trip for your dates.

Key facts

Region
Kashmir Valley (Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg) joined by road to Ladakh (Kargil, Leh, Nubra Valley, Pangong)
Best for
Travellers with ten or more days who want green valleys and high-desert Ladakh in a single journey, and who are comfortable with long mountain drives
How long people stay
About 10 to 14 nights in total, because the road legs and a rest day in Leh add three nights to the two package halves
Season for the road
Roughly June to September, when our Ladakh package pages say the Srinagar to Leh highway is normally open and snow-free
How we plan it
A Kashmir package, the Srinagar to Leh road in two days with a Kargil night, a Ladakh package from Leh, then the road back or a flight out of Leh
Price basis
Each half is priced from its own package table, per person on twin sharing. The road legs and extra nights are separate lines on your quote

This is how the TDI Holiday Ventures planning desk in Srinagar builds one trip across two very different places: the green, wooded Kashmir Valley and the high, dry mountains of Ladakh. We do not sell one fixed combo with a single price. Our Kashmir packages and our Ladakh packages each have their own tables, and the combo is those two plans joined by the Srinagar to Leh road. This page shows the pieces, what they cost on our own tables, and the points that decide whether the join works: road timing, altitude and season.

How does a Kashmir and Ladakh combo from Srinagar work?

Srinagar is the natural hinge. You land at Srinagar airport, spend a few days in the valley, then drive east to Leh. The highway climbs from Srinagar through Sonmarg, over the Zoji La pass, down to Dras and Kargil, and on to Leh. Our Srinagar to Ladakh taxi page gives the highway as about 434 km and recommends two days with a night in Kargil. After the Ladakh days you return the same way, or fly out of Leh if you would rather not drive back. Either way, the trip begins and ends in the places you can reach easily.

  1. Kashmir half. Pick a Kashmir package for the valley: Dal Lake, the Mughal gardens, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and, on longer plans, Sonmarg.
  2. Road to Kargil. One long day from Srinagar over Zojila, with a night in Kargil. Our own itineraries print the distance as roughly 200 to 220 km, so treat it as a full day rather than a short hop.
  3. Kargil to Leh. A second day, roughly 234 km on our itinerary pages, ending in Leh with the afternoon kept free.
  4. Rest in Leh. The first day in Leh is for rest. Our Ladakh itineraries say the same, and we keep it.
  5. Ladakh half. Pick a Ladakh package: Leh sightseeing, Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake and, on longer plans, Turtuk, Kargil or Tsomoriri.
  6. Way back. Two road days to Srinagar with a Kargil night, plus a spare night in Srinagar before any flight, or a flight out of Leh.

Which Kashmir and Ladakh packages can you join, and what do they cost?

Every figure below is copied from the package's own price table: per person on twin sharing, for two travellers. Each package page also prints lower per-person figures for four and six travellers. The Kashmir half comes first.

Kashmir halfNightsRoute from the package pagePer person, 2 travellers
3N/4D Quick Getaway3Srinagar with Gulmarg and Pahalgam as day trips₹11,950

5N/6D Gulmarg Stay5A night in Gulmarg or Tangmarg, a night in Pahalgam, a houseboat finale₹16,300

And the Ladakh half. These pages begin with arrival at Leh airport, so they are the second part of a combo, not the first.

Ladakh halfNightsRoute from the package pagePer person, 2 travellers

Amazing Ladakh with Kargil7Leh, a Kargil and Drass excursion, Nubra Valley, Turtuk, Pangong Lake₹33,600
Best of Ladakh9The full circuit with Hanle and Tsomoriri added₹44,650

Two honest notes on these tables. First, the Ladakh pages label their price ex-Srinagar, yet their first day starts at Leh airport, so we read each price as covering the Ladakh days from Leh. The Srinagar to Leh road leg is a separate line, quoted through our taxi service. Second, the Kashmir tables do not split seasons, so ask us for the rate on your dates before you pay. The Ladakh pages also list GST at 5 per cent as an extra on a GST invoice.

One TDI package already starts in Srinagar and heads east: Discover Ladakh, nine nights, Srinagar to Kargil to Leh, Nubra Valley and Pangong, then over the high road to Sarchu and Manali for ₹51,800 per person for two. It is a one-way overland journey that ends in Manali, so it is not the round trip this page is about. If you want a Srinagar start and a Srinagar finish, build the combo from the pieces above.

What does the Srinagar to Leh road involve?

It is one of the great mountain roads, and it is long. Our taxi page describes it as passing through Sonamarg, over Zoji La at 3,528 m, through Dras and Kargil, then over Fotu La at 4,108 m before the descent into Leh. Our tempo traveller page for the same road puts the whole drive at around 14 to 16 hours of driving, which is why we split it. Here is how the two days usually look.

StretchWhat to expectWhy it matters
Srinagar to SonmargA green valley road along the Sindh River, about three hours on our valley itinerariesStart early; this is the easy part of the day
Sonmarg to Zoji La to DrasThe pass road, with broken surfaces and queues where traffic is heldThe slowest stretch and the one most affected by weather
Dras to KargilA cold, open valley, then the town where most travellers sleepKargil is about 2,700 m, a useful first step up before Leh
Kargil to LehMonasteries and river canyons, then the Indus Valley and Fotu La at 4,108 mThe pass is the high point of the road; keep water and layers to hand

Our Srinagar to Leh pages recommend SUVs such as the Innova, Scorpio or Fortuner for their power and ground clearance, and a tempo traveller for groups. On our Ladakh packages the vehicle is a private non-AC Xylo or Scorpio for up to six passengers or a tempo traveller for up to twelve, strictly as per the itinerary, so ask which vehicle your whole trip uses.

What is the Zojila timing note?

Zoji La is a narrow pass where traffic is often held and released in turns, and the authorities set the movement windows. Those windows change with the day, the season and the work on the road, and we cannot give you one that will still be true on your date. What we can say is how it changes your plan. We leave Srinagar early so the pass is crossed in daylight with margin. We do not book a flight or a hard commitment for the same evening. And if snow, a slide or an accident stops traffic, the pass can stay shut for hours or, after heavy snow, for days. Before you travel we check the movement rules for your dates and tell you what time to be on the road.

Why does the combo need an acclimatisation rest in Leh?

Leh is about 3,500 m above sea level, and Srinagar is roughly 1,600 m. Our Leh hotel page puts Leh at 3,524 m and says most hotels recommend a day of rest on arrival. Our Ladakh itineraries say the same: arrive, rest, and keep the first afternoon light. Going up by road in steps (Sonmarg, Kargil, Leh) gives your body some gradual change, which many travellers find gentler than flying straight into Leh, but nobody is exempt from altitude effects, and the road itself crosses passes above 3,500 m.

  • Keep the first day in Leh free. Walk slowly, drink water, and skip alcohol until you feel settled.
  • Tell your driver or guide at once if you have a headache, nausea, breathlessness or unusual drowsiness. Do not hide it to keep to the schedule.
  • Talk to your doctor before booking if you have a heart, lung or blood pressure condition, if you are pregnant, or if you are travelling with a young child or an older parent.
  • Our Ladakh packages list heater charges and oxygen cylinders as extras, so ask what your hotel or camp offers before you rely on either.

Which months suit a Kashmir and Ladakh combo?

Our Ladakh pages say the Srinagar to Leh highway and the Leh to Manali road are normally open from roughly June to September, and that is the window for the combo. Outside it the road can close for long spells. Our winter packages page says plainly that we do not plan or recommend a winter Ladakh road trip. In June to September the valley is at its greenest, Ladakh is at its most accessible, and both halves can be done without a snow plan. Nobody can promise the pass or the weather on a given day, so we keep a spare day in the plan.

If your dates fall in spring or autumn, ask us before you plan anything. Early and late in the season are when a pass is most likely to be open one week and shut the next. For a comparison of the two places before you commit, read our Kashmir vs Ladakh guide.

How long should the combo be?

Add up the pieces and the answer is longer than most people expect. The road legs, the Leh rest and a spare night in Srinagar take three nights on top of the two package halves. Here are three builds, using our own package nights.

BuildKashmir halfLadakh halfRoad and buffer nightsTotal nights

Fuller5N/6D Explorer (5 nights)Amazing Ladakh with Turtuk (6 nights)The same three nightsAbout 14

If you only have a week, we would pick one place and do it well. Our Ladakh tour packages page and the Ladakh destination guide cover Ladakh on its own, and the Kashmir tour packages page covers the valley.

What do the packages include, and what is extra?

The two halves have different inclusion lists, so read both. The Kashmir package pages list deluxe rooms as per the hotel list, daily breakfast and dinner, a one-hour shikara ride on Dal Lake, Srinagar airport pickup and drop, a private vehicle and all taxes. They exclude flights, lunches, the Gulmarg gondola tickets, ponies, guide charges and entry fees.

The Ladakh package pages list accommodation on twin sharing, breakfast and dinner, transfers and sightseeing by private vehicle as per the itinerary, inner line permits (the Red Cross, wildlife and environmental fees), toll, taxes, parking and driver allowances, and a child below five sharing a bed with parents at no charge. They exclude GST at 5 per cent on a GST invoice, personal expenses, entry fees to monasteries and parks, guide charges, camera fees, travel insurance, heater charges, oxygen cylinders, and any cost caused by natural calamities such as landslides or road blocks. The permits rules differ for Indian and foreign nationals and can change, so we confirm yours when you enquire.

Where are the nights, and what should you ask before you pay?

The Ladakh packages name camps and cottages in Nubra Valley and Pangong, and hotels in Leh and Kargil, in several tiers. Camps and cottages at altitude are simpler than a valley hotel, and the lakeside nights can be cold, so ask what heating, hot water and power each stay offers. Our Leh hotel page and Pangong stay page cover the stays, and the Kashmir hotel pages cover the valley. Then ask three more things: which vehicle you use on each leg, who pays for the Kargil nights, and what happens to the plan if the pass is shut on the day you travel.

What is the next step?

Send your dates, the number of travellers, how many nights you have and whether you want to return by road or fly out of Leh, through our contact page. Our planners in Srinagar reply on WhatsApp within 30 minutes, according to our site, and quote the whole trip as separate lines for each half and each road leg. If you travel in a larger group, our page on group tours is a good place to start. Flying in? Our guide on how to reach Kashmir covers the flight routes to Srinagar.

Questions travellers ask

How many days do you need for a Kashmir and Ladakh trip together?

Plan for about 10 to 14 nights. The two package halves are three to six nights in Kashmir and four to nine in Ladakh, and the Srinagar to Leh road adds a Kargil night each way plus a spare night in Srinagar. Anything shorter means rushing the road or dropping a half.

Can I do the combo in winter?

We do not plan or recommend it. Snow can shut the Zojila pass for days, and our Ladakh pages treat roughly June to September as the window for the Srinagar to Leh road. In winter we suggest a Kashmir snow trip on its own, and Ladakh in a later season.

Is it better to do Kashmir first or Ladakh first?

We usually put Kashmir first. You start at a lower altitude, climb to Leh by road in steps, and finish the Ladakh days with the valley as a gentler landing. It also keeps spare time in Srinagar if a pass is delayed. If your flights make Ladakh first easier, tell us and we will plan around it.

Why do you stop in Kargil on the way to Leh?

The drive is long, about 14 to 16 hours on our tempo traveller page, and Kargil sits at a moderate altitude before Leh. A night there splits the road into two sensible days, gives a gradual step up, and leaves some margin if Zojila holds traffic. Express one-day transfers exist, but we suggest them only for experienced travellers.

Are inner line permits included?

Our Ladakh packages list inner line permits for the Red Cross, wildlife and environmental fees as included, and the Discover Ladakh page says our team arranges the permits for Nubra Valley and Pangong. Rules differ by nationality and by area and can change, so we confirm what your group needs when you enquire.

Can I fly one way instead of driving both ways?

Yes, you can drive up from Srinagar and fly out of Leh, which saves two days. Our Ladakh packages already end with a departure from Leh airport. Flights and fares change, so we do not print them here; tell us your dates and we check the options, and plan a spare day around the flight.

What does the whole Kashmir and Ladakh combo cost?

We quote it as separate lines: a Kashmir package from its own table, the Srinagar to Leh road legs, a Ladakh package from its own table, and any extra nights. The tables above give the per-person starting figures for two travellers. Group-size prices, season and hotel tier change the total, so we send a written quote for your dates.

Can children and older parents join the combo?

It can work, but the road and the altitude are the issues. The days are long, the passes are high, and Leh needs a rest day. Speak to your doctor first, tell us the ages, and consider the Kashmir half alone for a young child or an older parent. Our family packages page covers Kashmir for children.
