Amazing Ladakh with Turtuk

Leh · Nubra Valley · Turtuk Village · Pangong Lake

6 Nights / 7 Days Leh → Nubra Valley → Turtuk → PangongFrom ₹25,400 per person

What makes this Turtuk Ladakh tour package different from a standard Nubra-Pangong circuit is a dedicated day in Turtuk — a Balti village near the Line of Control that only opened to tourists in 2010, with its own distinct culture, language and terraced apricot orchards, unlike anything else in the itinerary. Over 6 nights / 7 days, you’ll also cover Leh’s landmarks, Nubra Valley’s sand dunes, an overnight stay at Pangong Lake, and Hemis, Thiksey and Shey on the return leg.

It’s the right pick for travellers who’ve done or are planning the standard Ladakh circuit and want one genuinely distinct cultural stop added in.

  • Leh sightseeing — Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace & Local Market
  • Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass with camel ride at sand dunes
  • Turtuk border village — Balti tribe culture & views of Pakistan border
  • Pangong Lake overnight stay with stunning mountain views
  • Hemis, Thiksey Monastery & Shey Palace en route to Leh

6 Nights / 7 Days · Leh · Nubra Valley · Turtuk · Pangong. Everything below is customisable — change the pace, add a night, swap a hotel.

  1. 1

    Day 1

    Arrival in Leh

On arrival at Leh airport meet our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Leh. Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel. In the late afternoon around 4 PM, drive to visit Shanti Stupa (Buddhist white-domed stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa) followed by a visit to Leh Palace (Former royal palace overlooking the town of Leh). Post this visit Leh Market, here you can find almost everything including Himalayan Pashmina Shawls/Apricot Store/Tibetan Handicrafts/Ladakhi Ornaments/Rugs, Kashmiri Carpets and etc. Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel. Since you are reaching an altitude of 4000 meters approximately from 200 mtrs in just one hour’s time, you may be excited and would want to explore everything on your very first day. However, it is your body which needs to get acclimatized to such height and climate. We sincerely suggest that you rest on the first day for body acclimatization.

Atop the village you also get a view of Pakistani side of the border. Almost every family is divided and some of the relatives now reside on the other side of the border. Questions about this trip

What makes Turtuk different from the rest of Ladakh?

Turtuk is a Balti Muslim village near the Line of Control that only opened to Indian tourists in 2010. It has its own distinct language, cuisine and culture compared to the Buddhist-majority parts of Ladakh, along with terraced apricot orchards and traditional stone architecture.

Do I need a special permit to visit Turtuk?

Yes, Turtuk falls under the inner line permit zone, which is included and arranged by our team as part of this package.

What is the best time for this Ladakh and Turtuk expedition?

Ladakh is accessible roughly June through September, when the Leh–Manali and Leh–Srinagar highways are open and passes like Khardungla and Changla are snow-free. Turtuk’s apricot orchards are especially scenic in late summer.

How is altitude sickness managed on this trip?

Leh sits at approximately 3,500m, so Day 1 is deliberately kept light for acclimatization. We recommend staying hydrated and informing your guide of any symptoms — our team is experienced in managing high-altitude travel throughout.

Can I customise this itinerary?

Yes. You can add an overnight stay in Turtuk itself instead of a day trip, extend your Pangong stay, or upgrade your accommodation category — share your preferences via WhatsApp and we’ll tailor a quote within 30 minutes.
