TDI Holiday Ventures offers reliable Tempo Traveller service from Srinagar to Jammu, covering the 270-kilometer journey through the beautiful Jammu region. This route connects the Kashmir Valley with the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Srinagar-Jammu highway (NH-44) passes through the scenic Chenani Nashri tunnel, the longest road tunnel in India. The journey offers views of the Shivalik hills, river gorges, and pine forests. It is a well-maintained highway with good road conditions.
This route is particularly popular with pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra, which is just 40 kilometers from Jammu. Our Tempo Traveller service provides comfortable transportation for groups traveling to the shrine.
We offer both one-way and round-trip Tempo Traveller services between Srinagar and Jammu. Our fleet includes 8, 14, and 17-seater options to suit your group size.
Reliable, comfortable, and affordable Tempo Traveller service from Srinagar to Jammu with TDI Holiday Ventures.
The Srinagar to Jammu run is the main road out of the valley. Groups take it for onward travel by train or flight from Jammu, for weddings and family visits, and most often as the first leg of a pilgrimage to Katra, about 40 km beyond Jammu. A Tempo Traveller makes sense when you have eight or more people or a lot of luggage, because a single vehicle is easier to coordinate than two or three cars on a long day.
The highway follows the NH-44 south through the Pir Panjal range, passing river gorges and pine forest before it reaches the Shivalik foothills. The Chenani Nashri tunnel shortens the climb and removes some of the worst weather exposure. Even so, this is a mountain road: a breakdown ahead, a landslide or snow in winter can add hours. Leave early, keep your onward booking flexible and carry water and snacks. For travellers going the other way, our Jammu to Srinagar taxi page covers the same road.
Many passengers continue from Jammu to Katra for the Vaishno Devi shrine. We can plan the whole journey as one: Srinagar to Katra in a single vehicle, with a stop in Jammu if you wish. Pilgrim registration and any helicopter tickets are handled only through the shrine board's official channels, not by us; read the Vaishno Devi destination page for how the yatra is usually planned, and the Katra rooms page if you need a place to stay.
We offer both. A round trip is simpler to arrange when the same group is coming back, because the driver and vehicle stay with you, and we confirm the terms of a return in writing. Tell us the return date when you enquire.
Night journeys can be arranged but depend on driver availability and road conditions, and we recommend daytime travel on this highway. Give us your timings when you book so the plan, the driver's rest and any extra allowance are clear.
Written by the TDI Holiday Ventures planning desk in Srinagar. Conditions, fares and rules change: confirm anything that affects your booking with us on WhatsApp before you pay.
The distance is about 270 km on the NH-44, and the drive is a full day: plan on roughly seven to nine hours with stops, and longer if the road is closed or slow.
Yes. Groups heading to the Vaishno Devi shrine can go straight through to Katra in one vehicle. Registration and helicopter tickets come only from the shrine board's official channels.
Yes, one-way and round-trip services are both available. Give us the return date and we confirm the terms in writing.
It is possible, subject to driver availability and road conditions, but we recommend daytime travel on this highway.
