Foreign riders need the licence documents their own country requires, and we tell you what to bring when you enquire. Every rental includes a helmet, and we suggest bringing your own if you want a closer fit. Fuel is the rider's cost. Bikes carry valid registration and insurance, and a roadside helpline is there if one breaks down, with a repair or a replacement arranged as soon as it can be.

Weather, season and safety

The valley is rideable most of the year, but not equally. Spring and summer are the easiest months; rain can make hill roads slick, and heavy snow in winter can limit what we can rent out and where it can go. Ride in daylight, keep clear of loaded trucks on climbs, and slow down on bends where gravel collects. We would rather change your plan than send you out on a day the road is bad, so ask us on the day.
