Amarnath Helicopter Booking
TDI Holiday Ventures helps pilgrims plan around the Amarnath helicopter, a convenient and time-saving option for reaching the holy cave shrine. The tickets themselves are sold through the Shrine Board's official channels, not by us. The helicopter service reduces the challenging trek to a scenic flight.
Helicopter Routes
The helicopter service operates from Neelgrath (Baltal) and Pahalgam to the Panjtarni helipad, which is the closest point to the Amarnath cave. After landing at Panjtarni there is still a walk to the cave, and the Shrine Board's current guidance gives its length and the terrain, so we do not quote a distance that may be out of date.

Helicopter tickets and yatra registration go through the Shrine Board's official channels. We guide you on the steps and the documents, and we plan the hotels, the transfers and a spare day around your flight, but we do not issue registrations or hold seats.

Helicopter bookings are subject to weather conditions and SASB regulations. Advance booking is essential as seats fill up quickly during the Yatra period (July-August).

How does the Amarnath helicopter service work?
The yatra is run by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). Helicopter flights go from the Neelgrath helipad near Baltal and from Pahalgam to the Panjtarni helipad, and from there pilgrims walk to the cave, which our yatra guide places at about 3,888 m. A flight saves much of the trek, not the altitude: the cave is high, and altitude affects people regardless of age. Our Amarnath Yatra guide explains the routes and the registration.

How do you avoid unofficial sellers?
- Buy only through the Shrine Board's official channels. Be wary of anyone offering an assured seat outside them.
- Start from the Board's own website, jksasb.nic.in, and reach a booking page from there, not from an advert or a message.
- Check that the name on the ticket matches the ID you will carry.
- Do not pay cash to an individual who promises a seat, and keep screenshots of every confirmation.
- If you are unsure about a link, send it to us and we compare it with the Board's site before you pay anything.
Who should consider the helicopter?
It suits pilgrims who are short of days, older pilgrims and those who cannot manage the full trek, as long as their doctor agrees. It does not replace the registration or the health certificate, and it does not remove the altitude. Speak to your own doctor before you book, especially if you have a heart, lung or blood-pressure condition. We are a travel desk and do not give medical advice. Seats are limited and heavily contested, so decide early.

What does a plan around the flight look like?
- Arrive in Srinagar at least two days early to settle and adjust, as our yatra guide advises, with an easy day of rest.
- Transfer to Pahalgam or Sonmarg the day before, depending on your helipad, and sleep early.
- Fly on the day and time of your ticket, weather permitting, and follow the Board's instructions on the route.
- Return to a hotel for a night of rest, with a full day before any onward travel.
