Mumbai to Kashmir is one of India’s most popular travel routes. With multiple daily flights and excellent package options, the journey from Maximum City to Paradise on Earth is seamless.
Flight Connectivity
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport operates 4-6 daily direct flights to Srinagar with IndiGo, Vistara, SpiceJet, and GoAir. Flight time is approximately 2.5 hours. Round-trip fares range from ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 depending on the season. This makes Mumbai one of the best-connected cities for Kashmir travel.
Best Packages for Mumbai Travellers
Mumbai travellers prefer shorter, experience-rich packages. The 3-night Kashmir Quick Getaway (₹8,550/person) is perfect for a long weekend. The 4-night Kashmir Honeymoon Special (₹12,500/person) is our most booked package from Mumbai. For families, the 5-night Kashmir Explorer (₹12,500/person) offers the best value.
Seasonal Trends
Summer (May-June) sees the highest bookings from Mumbai as families escape the coastal heat. Winter (December-January) is popular for couples wanting a snow-themed honeymoon. Monsoon (July-August) offers lower prices and dramatic landscapes.
Why Kashmir from Mumbai
The contrast between Mumbai’s urban energy and Kashmir’s serene valleys is the biggest draw. Mumbai travellers appreciate the valley’s slow pace, fresh mountain air, and the luxury of houseboat living. Many corporates from Mumbai also book Kashmir for team retreats and incentive trips.

Getting from Mumbai to Srinagar
Mumbai has air links to Srinagar, both direct and through Delhi, and the direct flight takes roughly three hours. Schedules and operators change from season to season, so check the current timetable and book early for April to June, when seats and fares are tightest. A flight with a connection can still work well if it saves cost, but keep the connection comfortable, with at least two hours between flights. Train and road options exist but are long, and most travellers fly in and fly out. Land in Srinagar in daylight where possible.
When Mumbai travellers go
The summer holidays from April to June are the most popular time, with cool green meadows as a break from Mumbai's humidity. The monsoon months of June to August give Mumbaikars another reason to head north, though Kashmir has its own showers and yatra traffic in July and August. October to December is the favourite for couples and families, with chinar colour, clear skies and snow arriving in Gulmarg. January and February suit those who want snow. Book hotels two to three months ahead for the school holidays and Diwali weeks.
What travellers from Mumbai usually ask for
Travellers from Mumbai often come in families and groups and value comfort, good food and a smooth plan. Vegetarian and Jain meals are common requests, and we can arrange them with hotels that cater to them, with advance notice. Many Mumbai guests are first-time visitors who want the main sights without rushing, with a houseboat night and the gondola as highlights. Business travellers and couples often ask for a quieter hotel and a private car for the whole trip, rather than shared transport.
A plan that fits a Mumbai schedule
With five to seven nights, a Mumbai itinerary can include two nights in Srinagar, a night or two in Gulmarg, two in Pahalgam and a spare day. Because the flight is longer, keep the first afternoon light and start the sightseeing the next morning. For a shorter trip of four nights, choose Srinagar and Gulmarg only. Our Kashmir 5-day and 7-day itineraries give worked examples, and our Mumbai to Kashmir packages page explains how the journey is arranged.
Packages that suit this trip
Mumbai travellers usually want a trip long enough to justify the flight, with a settled pace and time in each place.
| Package | Nights | From, per person (two travellers) |
|---|---|---|
| 5N/6D Kashmir Explorer | 5N/6D | ₹15,900 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir with a Gulmarg stay | 5N/6D | ₹16,300 |
| 6N/7D Kashmir with Doodhpathri | 6N/7D | ₹18,200 |
Prices are the lowest cell in each package's own price table, per person for two travellers sharing, from Srinagar, as printed on the package page; they change with group size, season and hotel tier, and we confirm the final amount in writing before you pay. Flights are not included.
Practical notes for travellers from Mumbai
Mumbai is warm all year, so cold is the main surprise: carry layers for evenings in spring and autumn, and proper winter gear from November to February, including thermals and waterproof boots. Carry government photo ID for every traveller and your documents in hand luggage. Prepaid mobile connections from other states may not work in Jammu and Kashmir, so check with your operator. Allow extra time for airport security on departure, and keep a spare day if you have an onward flight.
Making the long flight worth it
A longer flight deserves a longer stay, so we usually advise at least five nights for Mumbai travellers. That allows a day in each of Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, plus a rest day. Start with Srinagar, where the lake and gardens ease you in, and save the hill places for the next days. If you have a connecting flight through Delhi, consider a night in Srinagar on arrival rather than driving to Gulmarg the same day.
Food and comfort for large families
Large family groups from Mumbai often travel with elders and children, so we choose hotels with ground-floor or lift-served rooms, reliable heating and kitchens used to vegetarian and Jain requests. We recommend a vehicle with an easy step-in height, and we plan rest breaks on the longer drives. Tell us who is travelling and what each person needs, and we plan the days around them, not the other way round.
How booking works
Tell us your dates, the number of adults and children, any food needs and the style of stay you want. We suggest a plan and confirm the hotels, the vehicle and what is included in writing. Flights are booked separately by you, and we fit the land plan to your arrival and departure times. Ask us if you want a vegetarian or Jain meal plan across the trip.
Questions travellers ask
How long should a Mumbai family stay in Kashmir?
Five to seven nights is the usual choice. It gives time for Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam without rushing after a long flight.
Are there direct flights from Mumbai to Srinagar?
Direct and one-stop options exist, and schedules change by season. Check the current timetable and book early for April to June.
Can you arrange vegetarian or Jain food?
Yes. We tell the hotels in advance and choose properties that can cater to these needs, so tell us your requirements when you book.
Is the monsoon a good time to go from Mumbai?
Kashmir is cooler than Mumbai, but July and August bring showers and yatra traffic to some roads. It suits flexible travellers.
What should I pack coming from Mumbai's climate?
Layers in every season, and thermals, a down jacket and waterproof boots in winter. Evenings are cold even in summer.
