Bangalore to Kashmir is one of the most popular domestic air routes. With multiple daily flights and a thriving travel culture, Bengaluru travellers are among Kashmir’s most frequent visitors.
Flight Connectivity
Kempegowda International Airport operates 3-5 daily direct flights to Srinagar with IndiGo, Vistara, and SpiceJet. Flight time is approximately 3.5 hours. Round-trip fares range from ₹8,000 to ₹14,000. The frequency of flights makes Bangalore one of the best-connected cities for Kashmir.
Top Packages
Bangalore travellers love the 3-night Kashmir Quick Getaway (₹8,550/person) for weekend escapes. The 5-night Kashmir Explorer (₹12,500/person) is ideal for longer holidays. For couples, the 4-night Honeymoon Special (₹12,500/person) with houseboat stay and candlelit dinner is our most booked package.
Best Time to Visit
March-June is peak season for Bangalore travellers. Autumn (September-November) is preferred by photographers. Winter (December-February) attracts the adventure crowd for Gulmarg skiing.
Why Bangaloreans Love Kashmir
The cool climate feels familiar yet more dramatic. Kashmir’s café culture in Srinagar’s old town appeals to Bangalore’s coffee-loving population. The valley also attracts many tech company offsites and team retreats from Bangalore-based companies.
Getting from Bangalore to Srinagar
Bangalore has air links to Srinagar, some direct and some through Delhi or another hub, and the journey takes a few hours with a connection. Direct flights run in some seasons, so check the schedule, and book early for the school holidays and the festival weeks in October and November. If you connect, leave a comfortable gap, and carry essentials in hand luggage in case a bag is delayed. Arrive in Srinagar in daylight where you can.
When Bangalore travellers go
April to June is the favourite with school holidays and cool hills, and October and November are popular for the festival breaks, with golden chinar colour. December and January suit those who want snow, which many Bangalore travellers have never seen. July and August are rainy and busy with yatra traffic. If your leave is flexible, ask us which weeks are quieter, and we suggest the best match of weather and price.
What travellers from Bangalore usually ask for
Bangalore travellers include IT professionals on long weekends, families on school breaks and groups of friends. They usually want efficient plans, clear pricing and well-run logistics, and they often ask for a mix of relaxed days and a few activities, such as the gondola and a shikara. Food preferences vary: vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are easy to find, and we can ask hotels about South Indian breakfast options on request. Many guests ask about weather and clothing, since the contrast is large.
A plan that fits a Bangalore schedule
A five-night plan fits Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam; a six or seven-night plan adds a spare day or the Doodhpathri meadows. If you only have a long weekend, choose Srinagar and Gulmarg and fly in and out on the same route. Keep the first afternoon light after the journey. Our Kashmir 5-day itinerary and 3-day itinerary show how to allocate the time, and our family trip guide covers travelling with children.
Packages that suit this trip
Bangalore travellers often have a short window and want a trip that is complete but not rushed.
| Package | Nights | From, per person (two travellers) |
|---|---|---|
| 4N/5D Kashmir Classic | 4N/5D | ₹13,800 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir Explorer | 5N/6D | ₹15,900 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir with a Gulmarg stay | 5N/6D | ₹16,300 |
Prices are the lowest cell in each package's own price table, per person for two travellers sharing, from Srinagar, as printed on the package page; they change with group size, season and hotel tier, and we confirm the final amount in writing before you pay. Flights are not included.
Practical notes for travellers from Bangalore
Bangalore's mild weather means Kashmir's cold is a real change, so pack layers for spring and autumn and proper winter clothing from November to February, including thermals, a down jacket, waterproof boots and gloves. Carry ID for every traveller. Prepaid mobile connections from other states may not work in Jammu and Kashmir, so ask your operator and download offline maps. Keep a spare day if you have an important onward date.
What to do first from Bangalore
If you land tired after a connecting flight, make the first day easy: a late lunch, a walk by the lake and an early dinner. Save the early start for the second day, when the gardens are quiet and the gondola line is short. If your group includes children, add a short, gentle activity for each day, such as a shikara ride or a meadow picnic, and avoid long drives on the first and last days.
Snow for the first time
Many Bangalore travellers see snow for the first time in Gulmarg. Come prepared: waterproof boots and gloves, thermals and sunglasses, and a plan to keep children warm and dry. Play in the snow for short stretches, warm up with hot drinks and keep the afternoon for rest. Our Gulmarg snowfall guide explains what to expect, and our packing list shows what to bring.
Using a long weekend well
If you only have three or four days, pick a base in Srinagar and one day trip to Gulmarg, and skip Pahalgam this time. Fly in early and out late to use every hour, and keep the middle day relaxed. A shorter trip done well is better than a long list done badly, and the valley will still be there for the next visit.
How booking works
Tell us your dates, the number of travellers, the ages of children and any food needs. We suggest a plan, confirm the hotels, the vehicle and what is included in writing and tell you what you pay separately. Flights are booked by you, and we fit the plan to your times. If your dates are flexible, ask us which weeks give the best weather and price.
