Hyderabad to Kashmir is a route that has grown significantly in popularity. With direct flights and tailored packages, the City of Pearls is well-connected to Paradise on Earth.
Flight Connectivity
Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport operates direct flights to Srinagar with IndiGo and SpiceJet. Flight time is approximately 3 hours. Round-trip fares start from ₹9,000. The frequency has increased in recent years, reflecting growing demand from Telugu travellers.
Top Packages
The 4-night Kashmir Honeymoon Special (₹12,500/person) with shikara ride and candlelit dinner is the top choice from Hyderabad. The 5-night Kashmir Family Package (₹11,500/person) with vegetarian meal options is popular. The 3-night Quick Getaway (₹8,550/person) suits shorter breaks.
Best Time to Visit
Summer (April-June) is the most popular season as Hyderabad experiences peak heat. Many families plan annual Kashmir trips during school summer holidays. Winter (December-February) is growing in popularity for snow experiences.
What Hyderabad Travellers Love
The cool mountain climate, the Mughal garden heritage (which resonates with Hyderabad’s own Nizami heritage), and the luxurious houseboat experience are major draws. Kashmiri cuisine, especially the Wazwan, appeals to the Hyderabadi love for rich, flavourful food.

Getting from Hyderabad to Srinagar
Hyderabad's airport has air links to Srinagar, with direct flights listed in some seasons and connections through Delhi or another hub at other times, and the direct flight takes about three hours. Schedules and operators change often, so check the current timetable and book early for April to June and the festival weeks. If you connect, keep at least two hours between flights, and carry a change of warm clothes in your hand luggage in case a bag is late. Arrive in Srinagar in daylight where you can.
When Hyderabad travellers go
April to June is the summer break and the most popular time, with cool green hills against Hyderabad's heat. October and the Dussehra holidays bring autumn colour, and the winter holidays around Christmas and Sankranti suit families who want snow, which is rare for most Hyderabad travellers. July and August have showers and yatra traffic. Book hotels and flights two to three months ahead for the festival weeks, and ask us for quieter weeks if your leave is flexible.
What travellers from Hyderabad usually ask for
Hyderabad travellers often come as extended families, with elders and children, and want comfort, good food and an easy pace. They ask about vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, spice levels and whether there is something like biryani to eat: Kashmir has its own rich rice and meat dishes, and the wazwan feast is the highlight. Honeymooners and couples ask for a houseboat night, and groups of friends ask for activities. We plan around the least mobile person in the group.
A plan that fits a Hyderabad schedule
A six-night plan gives two nights in Srinagar with a houseboat night, one in Gulmarg, two in Pahalgam and a final night in Srinagar. With five nights, drop one Pahalgam night. For a winter trip, build in a spare day for snow and flights. Keep the first day light after the journey. Our Kashmir 5-day and 7-day itineraries show how the days fit, and our family trip guide covers travelling with children and seniors.
Packages that suit this trip
Hyderabad families often want a complete first trip with a houseboat night, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, at a comfortable pace.
| Package | Nights | From, per person (two travellers) |
|---|---|---|
| 4N/5D Kashmir Classic | 4N/5D | ₹13,800 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir Explorer | 5N/6D | ₹15,900 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir with a Gulmarg stay | 5N/6D | ₹16,300 |
Prices are the lowest cell in each package's own price table, per person for two travellers sharing, from Srinagar, as printed on the package page; they change with group size, season and hotel tier, and we confirm the final amount in writing before you pay. Flights are not included.
Practical notes for travellers from Hyderabad
Hyderabad is warm for most of the year, so Kashmir's cold is the main surprise: carry layers in every season, and thermals, a down jacket, waterproof boots and gloves from November to February. Keep ID for every traveller, a copy of tickets and your medicines in hand luggage. Prepaid mobile connections from other states may not work in Jammu and Kashmir, so ask your operator. Take a power bank, since cold drains batteries.
Snow for the first time
Many Hyderabad travellers see snow for the first time in Gulmarg, which is a joyful and tiring experience. Plan short outdoor stretches, bring waterproof gloves and boots and warm up with hot drinks, and keep children's clothes dry. Our Gulmarg snowfall guide explains what to expect and how the gondola fits in.
Food, from biryani to wazwan
Hyderabadis who love their food usually enjoy Kashmir's cooking, with rich meat dishes, rice, bread and kahwa. Try the wazwan at least once, and ask us about the vegetarian dishes for the family. If someone prefers a plain meal, the hotels can prepare it, and bakeries sell good bread and sweets. Our wazwan guide explains the courses.
How booking works
Tell us your dates, how many adults and children are travelling, any food needs and the style of stay you want. We suggest a plan, confirm the hotels, the vehicle and what is included in writing and tell you what you pay separately. Flights are booked by you, and we fit the land plan to your times.
