Kashmir from Ahmedabad is closer than you think. With direct flights and excellent connectivity, the Valley of Paradise is just a 3-hour journey away. This guide covers everything you need to plan your Kashmir trip from Ahmedabad.
Flight Connectivity
Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport operates direct flights to Srinagar with IndiGo, SpiceJet, and GoAir. Flight time is approximately 3 hours. Round-trip fares during off-peak season start from ₹8,000. Direct flights make Ahmedabad one of the most convenient Gujarat cities for Kashmir travel.
Best Time to Visit
For Ahmedabad travellers, the ideal time is April-October when Kashmir’s weather is pleasant. Summer (April-June) offers escape from Gujarat’s intense heat. Autumn (September-November) showcases the famous chinar colours. Winter (December-February) is perfect for those wanting snow and Gulmarg skiing.
Recommended Packages
3-night Kashmir Quick Getaway (₹8,550/person) covers Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam — ideal for a week-long trip from Ahmedabad. For a longer stay, the 5-night Kashmir Explorer (₹12,500/person) adds Sonmarg and a houseboat night. Custom packages with flight assistance are also available.
Why Ahmedabad Travellers Love Kashmir
The cool climate is a welcome relief from Gujarat’s heat. Kashmiri cuisine, particularly the Wazwan, appeals to Gujarati palates with its rich flavours. Many Ahmedabad families choose Kashmir for summer vacations, and honeymoon couples find the valley’s romance unmatched.

Getting from Ahmedabad to Srinagar
Ahmedabad's airport offers flights to Srinagar, direct in some seasons and through Delhi at other times, and the direct flight takes about three hours. Check the current timetable, and book early for Diwali and the summer holidays, when seats are scarce. For groups, ask about group fares and keep the connection comfortable if you change planes. Arrive in daylight where you can, and carry essentials and medicines in hand luggage.
When Ahmedabad travellers go
The Diwali break, which for Gujarati families is also the New Year, is the busiest time, with autumn colour and cool air. April to June is the other favourite, as families escape the heat, and the winter months suit those who want snow. July and August bring showers and yatra traffic, which some families avoid. Book hotels two to three months ahead for Diwali, and ask us for quieter weeks if your dates can move.
What travellers from Ahmedabad usually ask for
Ahmedabad travellers are often large family groups, with several generations, who want comfort, good vegetarian food and a pace that suits everyone. Jain food, with no onion or garlic, is a frequent request, and we can arrange it with hotels in advance. Many ask for a private vehicle for the whole trip, a houseboat night and easy sightseeing, and they often travel in groups of ten or more, for whom a Tempo Traveller is practical. Honeymooners ask for quiet resorts.
A plan that fits a Ahmedabad schedule
For a family of mixed ages, a six-night plan with two nights in Srinagar, one in Gulmarg, two in Pahalgam and a final night in Srinagar works well. Keep the drives short and the mornings slow. For a group of friends, add an adventure day. For a large family, consider our Tempo Traveller or mini bus options. Our family trip guide covers travelling with seniors and children.
Packages that suit this trip
Ahmedabad families often want a complete plan with comfortable hotels, vegetarian meals and an unhurried pace.

Practical notes for travellers from Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad is hot for much of the year, so the cool and the cold of Kashmir are a change: carry layers in every season and proper winter clothing from November to February. Carry ID for every traveller, medicines in hand luggage and a copy of your bookings. Ask your operator about mobile coverage, since prepaid connections from other states may not work in Jammu and Kashmir. Allow time at the airport for security.
Food on the road
Long drives mean long stretches between meals, so we plan stops where vegetarian and Jain food is available and carry snacks for children and elders. Ask us in advance for packed meals on days when you will be far from restaurants, such as the drive to Gulmarg or Sonmarg. Hotels can prepare a simple early breakfast for an early start, and tea is easy to find.
Travelling in a large group
A large group needs more planning: rooms for each family, a vehicle with enough space for luggage and a pace that suits the slowest. We suggest splitting a day into morning and evening activities with a long rest in between, and appointing one person as the contact for the driver and the hotels. Keep a list of everyone's ID, medicines and dietary needs on one page, and share it with us before you arrive.
How booking works
Tell us your dates, the number of adults, children and seniors, your food needs, including Jain meals, and the style of stay. We suggest a plan and confirm hotels, vehicle and inclusions in writing. You book the flights, and we fit the plan to your times. For large groups, we advise booking early.
Questions travellers ask
