Gujarat is one of India’s largest source markets for Kashmir tourism. Gujarati travellers love the valley’s cool summers, scenic beauty, and warm hospitality. This comprehensive guide covers packages from all major Gujarat cities.
Connectivity from Gujarat Cities
Ahmedabad offers direct flights to Srinagar (3 hours). Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot travellers typically connect via Mumbai or Delhi. IndiGo and SpiceJet operate daily flights. Group bookings from Gujarat can arrange charter flights during peak season.
Best-Selling Packages
Gujarati travellers prefer longer stays. The 5-night Kashmir Explorer (₹12,500/person) and 6-night Luxury Kashmir (₹18,000/person) are the most popular. Family packages include kid-friendly activities, Jain food options, and Gujarati-speaking guides on request.
Why Kashmir is Perfect for Gujarat Travellers
Kashmir’s summer climate (15°C–30°C) offers a perfect escape from Gujarat’s 40°C+ summers. The valley’s vegetarian-friendly cuisine, houseboat experiences, and shikara rides appeal greatly to Gujarati families. Many return year after year, making Kashmir their preferred summer destination.

Getting from Gujarat to Srinagar
Gujarat has several airports with different links to Srinagar. Ahmedabad has the most options, direct in some seasons and through Delhi at other times; travellers from Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and elsewhere often connect through Mumbai, Ahmedabad or Delhi. The journey takes from a few hours to most of a day depending on the route. Check the current timetable and book early for Diwali and the summer holidays. See our pages for Ahmedabad and Surat for city-specific notes.
When Gujarat travellers go
Diwali and the Gujarati New Year are the busiest weeks, with autumn colour and cool air, followed by the winter break for snow. April to June is the summer escape. July and August bring showers and yatra traffic. If your family is large, book hotels, flights and vehicles two to three months ahead for the festival weeks, and ask us about quieter dates if you can be flexible.
What travellers from Gujarat usually ask for
Gujarati travellers often come in large family groups of several generations, who value comfort, good vegetarian food and a pace that suits everyone. Jain meals, without onion or garlic, are a common request, and we arrange them with hotels in advance. Many families prefer a private vehicle for the whole trip, and groups of ten or more use a Tempo Traveller or a mini bus. First-time visitors want the main sights, a houseboat night and time to shop for shawls and dry fruit.
A plan that fits a Gujarat schedule
A six-night plan with two nights in Srinagar, one in Gulmarg, two in Pahalgam and a last night in Srinagar works for most families. Keep the first day light after the journey, start slowly and split the day into a morning and an evening outing with a rest between. For groups, plan a single contact person and a shared list of names, ID and food needs. Our group tour page and family trip guide explain how.
Packages that suit this trip
Gujarat groups usually look for a complete trip with comfortable stays, vegetarian meals and a vehicle for the whole group.
| Package | Nights | From, per person (two travellers) |
|---|---|---|
| 4N/5D Kashmir Classic | 4N/5D | ₹13,800 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir Explorer | 5N/6D | ₹15,900 |
| 6N/7D Kashmir with Doodhpathri | 6N/7D | ₹18,200 |
Prices are the lowest cell in each package's own price table, per person for two travellers sharing, from Srinagar, as printed on the package page; they change with group size, season and hotel tier, and we confirm the final amount in writing before you pay. Flights are not included.
Practical notes for travellers from Gujarat
Gujarat's climate is hot for much of the year, so layers matter in Kashmir: a warm jacket in summer evenings and proper winter clothing from November to February. Carry ID for every traveller and medicines in hand luggage. Ask your operator about mobile coverage, since prepaid connections from other states may not work in Jammu and Kashmir. Pack soft bags for a group vehicle.
Festival season planning
If you are travelling around Diwali, book early and expect busy roads and hotels. Autumn weather is lovely, with cold evenings, so pack warm layers. Ask us about local festival hours at the places you visit, and plan one quiet evening in the middle of the trip. Hotels often prepare special meals for festival evenings if you ask in advance.
What to see for first-time visitors
A first visit from Gujarat usually includes the lake and gardens in Srinagar, the gondola and meadows in Gulmarg and the river valleys of Pahalgam. Add a houseboat night and a shikara ride, and keep an afternoon free for shopping. Our top things to do in Kashmir guide lists the highlights.
How booking works
Tell us your dates, the number of adults, children and seniors, food needs including Jain meals and the style of stay. We suggest a plan and confirm hotels, vehicles and inclusions in writing. You book the flights, and we fit the plan to your times. For large groups, book early.
