Why Book With Us
With 25 years of experience hosting Tamil Nadu guests, we understand the specific needs of our South Indian travellers. From food preferences to cultural sensitivities, every detail is handled with care.
Getting from Tamil Nadu to Srinagar
Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and other airports connect to Srinagar mainly through Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore, with a few direct options in some seasons. The journey takes several hours, so choose connections with a comfortable gap and carry medicines and a warm layer in your hand luggage. Check the current timetable and book early for the summer holidays and the festival weeks. Arrive in Srinagar in daylight where you can, and keep the first day light.
When Tamil Nadu travellers go
April to June is the most popular time, when school holidays and the heat at home make cool hills attractive. October and the Dussehra and Diwali holidays bring autumn colour, and the winter break from December suits those who want snow, which is a novelty for many. July and August have showers and yatra traffic. Book flights and hotels two to three months ahead for peak weeks, and ask us about quieter ones.
What travellers from Tamil Nadu usually ask for
Travellers from Tamil Nadu often come as families and groups who value comfort, good vegetarian food and a clear plan. Language is not a problem: our drivers and hosts speak Hindi, Urdu and English, and we explain plans in simple English. Many ask about breakfast options such as idli or dosa; hotels may not offer them, so we discuss what is available and suggest alternatives. Pilgrims often combine Kashmir with Vaishno Devi or the Amarnath Yatra, which we plan carefully.
A plan that fits a Tamil Nadu schedule
A six-night plan with two nights in Srinagar, one in Gulmarg, two in Pahalgam and a final night in Srinagar suits a family. If you also plan to visit Vaishno Devi, read our Vaishno Devi destination page and add days at the start or end. Keep the first day light and the schedule loose, and plan rest in the middle. Our Kashmir 7-day itinerary and family trip guide show how.
Packages that suit this trip
Tamil Nadu travellers usually want a longer, settled trip with comfortable hotels and a few signature experiences.
| Package | Nights | From, per person (two travellers) |
|---|---|---|
| 5N/6D Kashmir Explorer | 5N/6D | ₹15,900 |
| 5N/6D Kashmir with a Gulmarg stay | 5N/6D | ₹16,300 |
| 6N/7D Kashmir Summer Special | 6N/7D | ₹18,400 |
Prices are the lowest cell in each package's own price table, per person for two travellers sharing, from Srinagar, as printed on the package page; they change with group size, season and hotel tier, and we confirm the final amount in writing before you pay. Flights are not included.
Practical notes for travellers from Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu's warm climate makes Kashmir's cold the biggest change: carry layers in every season and thermals, a down jacket, waterproof boots and gloves from November to February. Carry ID for every traveller, medicines in hand luggage and a power bank. Ask your operator about mobile coverage, since prepaid connections from other states may not work in Jammu and Kashmir. Keep a few snacks for the road, since meal stops can be far apart.
Food on a long trip
Food is a common concern on a long trip. Kashmir has good vegetarian dishes, bread, rice and dal, and hotels can prepare milder or plainer meals on request. Carry some snacks from home for the road, and ask us for packed meals on long drive days. We suggest trying one Kashmiri meal, such as a small wazwan, even for vegetarians, since vegetarian versions of local dishes exist.
Pilgrimage and sightseeing together
Many travellers from Tamil Nadu combine Kashmir with Vaishno Devi or the Amarnath Yatra. These need careful timing, since yatra dates and registration are set by the shrine boards. Tell us your plans early, and we help with the stays, transfers and rest days around them, as described on our Amarnath yatra page.
How booking works
Tell us your dates, the number of travellers, food needs and the style of stay. We suggest a plan, confirm hotels, vehicles and inclusions in writing and keep a spare day. You book the flights, and we fit the plan to your times. If you want to combine Kashmir with a pilgrimage, say so early.
