What is an Ertiga cab, and who is it for?

The Ertiga is a Maruti Suzuki seven-seat MPV with three rows. In Kashmir it is hired with a driver, the way most visitors travel, for airport pick-ups, a Srinagar city day and trips to the hill meadows. It is a good fit when you are four to six people, you travel with ordinary-sized bags, and the budget matters more than a premium cabin.

How many people and how much luggage will an Ertiga take?

Seven seats is the headline, but the boot is small when all three rows are in use. This is our planning rule of thumb, not a guarantee, and we confirm it against your actual bags.

Which routes suit an Ertiga?

An Ertiga works well on the standard valley routes: airport transfers, the Srinagar loop of gardens and lake, and day trips by road to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg. These roads are tarred and well used, although Gulmarg's last stretch and Sonmarg's higher road change with snow, so we check conditions for your date.

For rougher side roads, such as the way to Doodhpathri or Gurez, or the high passes on the Ladakh road, ask first. On those routes a vehicle with more ground clearance is a safer fit than a people carrier, so we may suggest one.

What affects the Ertiga price?

We do not print a fixed Ertiga tariff. The quote moves with the route, the number of days, the hours, the season and the pick-up point. As the budget option between a sedan and an Innova, it makes sense when four to six people want one vehicle at a sensible price, but we quote it for your dates and confirm the figure before you pay.
