This Zanskar Valley tour package is our deepest and longest Ladakh expedition, built around a region most itineraries never reach at all. Zanskar — accessed via Rangdum and the dramatic Drang Drung Glacier — remains one of the Himalaya’s most isolated inhabited valleys, home to Padum and a cluster of centuries-old monasteries at Karsha, Bardan, Stongde and Zangla. Over 12 nights / 13 days, the itinerary also covers the Kargil War Memorial, Nubra Valley, Turtuk and an overnight stay at Pangong Lake, making this the most complete Ladakh circuit we offer.
It’s built for serious Ladakh travellers and adventure seekers who want genuine remote-region access, not just the well-documented tourist circuit.

Yes, relatively — the road from Kargil via Rangdum and Pensi La pass is remote and can take a full day of driving each way, which is why this is a 12-night itinerary rather than a shorter add-on. It’s accessible by road (rather than requiring trekking), but genuinely off the standard tourist circuit.
The Kargil-Rangdum-Padum road is typically open June through September, with July-August offering the most stable conditions. Winter Zanskar treks (via the frozen Chadar trail) are a separate, much more extreme undertaking not covered by this package.
Karsha, Bardan, Stongde and Zangla each offer distinct architecture and history — Karsha is the valley’s largest monastery, built into a cliffside, while Bardan sits dramatically above the Lungnak River. All are active Buddhist monasteries, not just historical sites.
Leh sits at approximately 3,500m, and the route crosses several high passes throughout. Day 1 acclimatization is essential, and the itinerary’s pacing allows gradual adjustment as you move deeper into the route. We recommend staying hydrated and informing your guide of any symptoms throughout.
